Aviator is the term used to describe the pilot or operator of an airship in the Mortal Engines Quartet. The equivalent female title is Aviatrix which is used to described a female operator. There are many different types of aviators.
Some trade along the Bird Roads and travel around the world to trade with cities. Others pilot warships to fight either for the various Traction cities or the Anti-Tractionists.
